The Federation of Indian American Associations (FIAWA), member of National Federation of Indian American Associations (NFIA) invites all Indian American Associations in the State of Washington to a common platform to share causes, initiatives and support each other's activities.
FIAWA, was founded in 2008 to fulfill the need of the ONE VOICE of the Indian American Community Organizations of the State Washington to come together and celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the people of Indian origin.

FIAWA  -    A Tribute to Peace. January 30th 2010

The newly formed Federation of Indian American Associations of Washington (FIAWA) is forging ahead to from new alliances between the communities. Formed in 2008/2009, the FIAWA has, under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Sudip Gorakshakar and President Mrs. Lavanya Reddy taken over charge, where NFIA initiated the work of “INTIATIVE INDIA” proposed during the NFIA 15th Biennial Convention in Nov 21-23, 2008.

In Oct 2010, when NFIA installed the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, in the Bellevue Regional Library, FIAWA organized a grand event in hosting the Ambassador of India Hon. Mrs. Meera  Shanker, Congressmen Jim McDermott , Jay Inslee, Counsel General  Shusmita Thomas, Mayor of Bellevue and many other dignitaries and most importantly the six hundred strong community who made the event memorable. The participation from the children and talented individuals brought forth the values of Gandhiji principals that still impact the world.
